Experts want more pregnant women in vaccine studies

Health care experts should do more to include pregnant women in the development of vaccines for infectious diseases to protect them and their babies.

Researchers with the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics Pregnancy Research Ethics for Vaccines, Epidemics, and New Technologies (PREVENT) Project said that pregnant women should be included in vaccine deployment programs and vaccine research and development as a “default position.”
