Mid-Atlantic professionals to lead RIMS in 2018


Robert Cartwright Jr., a Pennsylvania safety manager, has assumed the presidency of the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS), while professionals from Maryland and New Jersey have joined the association’s board of directors.

Robert Cartwright Jr., the Exton, Pa.-based safety and health manager of Bridgestone Retail Operations, succeeds Nowell Seaman, director of global risk management for Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc., as president.

Cartwright served as the vice president of RIMS in 2017, has been a member of the organization for more than 25 years and served on its board of directors for 10 years, RIMS said in a statement.

Steve Pottle, director of risk management services for York University in Toronto, has assumed the vice president’s position for RIMS in 2018.

Gloria Brosius, corporate risk manager, Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings in Loveland, Colorado, is the 2018 RIMS treasurer. Robert Zhang, China risk and compliance manager, IKEA (China) Investment Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, is the 2018 RIMS secretary.

The new 2018 RIMS board members are: Susan Hiteshew, senior manager, global insurance and risk financing for Under Armour Inc. in Baltimore; Kristen Peed, director of corporate risk management for CBIZ Inc. in Cleveland; Jennifer Santiago, director of risk management for Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp. in East Hanover, New Jersey; and Patrick Sterling, senior director for legendary people and risk with Texas Roadhouse in Louisville, Kentucky.
